About

Our Story

Phyllida Empowerment Centres International Inc. (PECI Inc.) is a non-profit organisation in St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG). It is a Divine Social Services ministry focussing on holistic personal developmental needs for the purpose of ministering to and empowering people from all walks of life to live a life characterized by the love and peace of God.

The word Phillida is a name of Greek origin which means love; a leafy foliage; green bough. It symbolizes life, refreshment,  fruitfulness, protection, and peace.

The bluish-green colours of the logo represent the following: Blue symbolizes peace and green symbolizes life, renewal, energy, growth, harmony, freshness, safety, and fertility - all of which everyone who has an encounter with PECI Inc. can expect to experience.

PECI Inc. was birthed in the summer of 2004 as an oasis to minister to the total being of its clients by offering professional services in Counselling and Nail Technology (artificial nails extension, nail art, manicures and pedicures). This was done by caring personnel with delight. However, in 2011 PECI Inc. was shifted into a new dimension.

Upon completion of the UNESCO / Israel (MASHAV) Co-sponsored Fellowship course on "Education Methodologies Youth At-Risk: Preventing Student Dropouts and Facilitating Reintegration" held in Israel 2018, Joanne returned home and in October 2018 started an outreach programme for children and youths in her Community Glen. The programme quickly grew and in January 2019 she began the implementation of  the P.E.A.E.C. (Peer Empowerment Action and Change Endeavour) project which she developed as part of her training in Israel. Out of this initiative the "Centre for Youth Advancement" (CFYA) was birthed. This is one of the various Centres of PECI Inc. As a result of the success of the CFYA and Joanne's vision for PECI Inc, on the 16th July 2019 PECI Inc was registered and incorporated as a NGO in SVG. The projected vision of PECI Inc is to build a "Youth Village" that will be a safe place for children and youths to be nurtured and developed.

Today, PECI Inc. is committed to declaring and releasing the peace of God and demonstrating God’s love to a hurting world. Thus, building the kingdom of God by empowering individuals through counselling, mentoring, life coaching, leading, motivating and teaching. Our desire is for you to lead the abundant life that Christ Jesus has purchased for us.

Joanne M.P. Haynes

The Visionary, Founder, and Executive Director of Phyllida Empowerment Centres International Inc. (PECI Inc.). Joanne M.P. Haynes is chosen by God as an Intercessor, who operates under an apostolic and prophetic anointing for spiritual warfare; Educator; Counsellor; Psychological Researcher; Author, Song Writer and Singer.

Joanne has a burning passion to carry out the 'great commission' of Christ Jesus in Mark 16:15 and Matthew 28:19 to proclaim, declare, announce or herald the Gospel to, and to teach, people from every culture, custom, civilization, race, colour or ethnicity who live, work and function in every sphere or system in the world where she has influence. She also has a love for the Word of God and a heart to comfort others with the comfort she has received from God (2 Corinthians 1:4), having gone through and overcame many spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical challenges. She delights in seeing people accept salvation, set free from bondage, experience the peace and love of God and moving in their destiny. Joanne has cultivated a life of extravagant praise and worship unto God and is known as a woman of great faith.

Presently, she is employed by the government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) in the Ministry of Education as a Guidance Counsellor in one of the Technical Institutes where she empowers youths and young adults to cope and deal with their daily challenges.

Joanne has served the SVG Schools Guidance Counsellor's Association (SVGSGCA) in the capacity of President, Secretary, and Committee Member for several years. She also served the SVG Inter Schools and Colleges Christian Fellowship (ISCCF) as the  Vice Chair, and she is involved in Aglow International (an interdenominational, international women's ministry).

Currently, Joanne hosts a weekly online Prayer Ministry (Restoration Ministries Healing and Deliverance Prayer Meeting) via Zoom every Thursday at 7:00pm.

She is sought after by many youth ministries in her country to facilitate workshops and seminars in which youths are empowered to lead the abundant life that God has created us to live and to fulfil their destiny.

Joanne aspires to become a Clinical Psychologist and Psychological Researcher.
